Girri Girri Academy members at Kelso have put their hands up to participate in the AFL Basic Umpiring Accreditation Course. This course is bound to be both informative and great fun! Students involved will also develop life skills (great things to mention in their resumes!) including:

• Leadership
• Critical and clear thinking
• Decision making
• Communication
• People management

Students who are successful in receiving their umpiring credential will then be invited to help umpire at Raglan Primary School’s 2010 Gala Day.

Following on from this training Academy members from both Kelso and Bathurst campuses will get the chance to talk to Australian Wallabies coach Robbie Deans about coaching elite athletes, travelling the world and his sporting experiences. There’ll be the lots of opportunities for students to ask Robbie questions about his career and chat about the positive influence sport can have on your life. We’ll make sure we get in touch with students following this Video Conference on Monday 29 March to see what coaching tips they can pass on to the rest of us!
