Cowra students kick off the new year
2010 is now well underway with Girri Girri Sports Academy busy planning for a jam packed year of adventure and achievement. Of particular interest is the upcoming trip to Narrabeen Sport and Recreation Centre in Sydney which will see students from all campuses obtain credentials in coaching. Whilst new skills will be big on the camp agenda, I’m sure all Academy members will find time to catch up with friends and welcome new faces.
Students from the Cowra campus have demonstrated how a little initiative can lead to big results with three Academy members returning from Christmas break armed with new skills and expanded sporting horizons. Tameeka Tighe won herself a place on the NSW Indigenous U16's schoolgirls Netball Team and has now been selected to play in Brisbane later this year against the National All schools and NZ Maori squads. Congratulations Tameeka! We wish you and your team every success!
Jyedn Murray & Aiden Craig took their football prowess to new levels by participating in the Parramatta Eels Development program. This program gave the boys a chance to learn new skills, straight from the masters! The hands on experience and knowledge these two gained during their time at Parramatta Headquarters in western Sydney will be provide a strong foundation on which they can build new skills and team strategies. Well done boys! We look forward to seeing these results on the field!
