With the school year now well underway Girri Girri Sports Academy would like to take this opportunity to bring everyone up to date on some of the big news to hit the Academy.

Doreen Conroy, Executive Officer of Girri Girri Sports Academy, has recently added a new challenge to her repertoire. Whilst she’ll still be one the Academies driving forces, she’s taken on the new role of Whole School Development Officer at Portland Central School. Congratulations Doreen! Portland Central is lucky to have you on their team!

We'd also like to bid the following staff members a fond farewell and acknowledge their fantastic contribution to the Academy.

Jennifer Short: who worked closely with Academy members and has now relocated to Lightning Ridge. Jennifer contributed greatly to the organisation of the second Sports Credential’s camp held at Lake Burrendong in 2008.

Lisa Crawford: who was part of the initial focus group to build Girri Girri Sports Academy. Lisa mentored Academy members for two years and remains involved via her role at Denison College, Bathurst Campus.

Meegan Johnson: who established the Condobolin High School Academy and ensured Girri Girri Sports Academy members gained their Bronze Medallion. Attainment of this qualification is now a tradition at Condobolin High.

Nathan William: who established the Bourke academy and actively engaged academy members in the newly established Soccer Club. Nathan was one of the original Coordinators whose contribution was vital to the early success of the academy.

Staff and students from across the nine Academy Campuses wish these Girri Girri stars all the best in their future endeavours. We’ll miss you!
