Peachy Shield Day
On Wednesday 26th May, Condobolin Primary School along with other primary schools from the Western NSW Region attended the SRA grounds at Condobolin for this annual football event.
This year Girri Girri students attended to help out the junior players and the coaches. This is part of a “Coaching Principles Course” these students have been doing online. A number of students had attended the primary school to assist in training beforehand.
Students that attended the day include Keanu Wighton, Chris Richards, Troy Powell, Aubry Milson (Year 9), Brandan Singh, Ricky Dargin, Treigh Powell, Kwa Parker (Year 8).
The day was wet, cold and rainy however the Condo team made it to the finals against Parkes. All students who participated did a great job, giving advice, cheering the team on, looking after equipment and helping the players warm up. They were excellent role models for the younger students and many parents, spectators and students commented on how great it was to have them there for the day.
Other high school students also attended to help with referring and touch judging. These students were Blake Hayden, Jake Worland, Anthony Jones, Brayden Davis, Toby Goodsell and Adam Richards. The organisers from Country Rugby League were very impressed with these students. They did a wonderful job on the day and everyone involved gave them compliments.
