NSW Rugby League passes the ball to Academy Members

Steve HallSteve HallSteve Hall, Coaching and Development Officer for the NSW Rugby League Academy, http://nswrlacademy.leaguenet.com.au/ was impressed by the strength and determination of members of the Girri Girri Sporting Academy.

Over a three day period, from 20 to 22 August 2007, Academy Members met at Lake Burrendong NSW Sport and Recreation Centre. During this time, twenty five young men were taken through their paces by representatives of the NSW Rugby League Academy.

Steve Hall said "It was a great opportunity to assess the merits of keen young blokes from as far afield as Bourke, Brewarrina, Bathurst, Cowra and Orange."

Academy Members had the chance to show off their current ability as well as develop some hands-on league skills. Through the use of group activities, emphasis was placed on the importance of team work as well as on individual resolution to succeed.

"I've really enjoyed my time with the Girri Girri fellows", said Steve Hall. "They're a great bunch and I'll look forward to seeing them progress successfully in coming years."

A number of Academy Members were successful in completing the Introduction to Level 'O' Coaching course. Congratulations from all participants!
