Bachelor of Human Movement/Bachelor of Education (Secondary)

I am the Girri Girri Sports Academy Coordinator for the Central West Region. Early in 2007 I was given the opportunity to be involved in the development and implementation of the program underlying the Girri Girri Sports Academy for Indigenous Students.

I have completed a degree in human movement and a degree in teaching [secondary] at Charles Sturt University (Bathurst campus). My studies included developing learning programs for adolescent, indigenous students.

My background includes a strong association with Aboriginal communities and families in a number of towns in the western and greater western regions of NSW.

I have a strong interest in sports including rugby league and rugby union, athletics (all disciplines), touch football, AFL, golf, basketball, hockey and netball. I particularly enjoy sports coaching and skill development.

I have had the opportunity to gain qualifications and training in a number of sport-related areas. I have a Sport and Recreation Instructor Certificate, a Senior First Aid Certificate and a trade certificate in Parks and Gardens/Landscape Gardening. I hold a current bus driver’s licence. I have successfully completed mentor program training.

I have had experience in teaching secondary PDHPE and designing teaching/learning programs using contemporary tools.

Currently I am a member of the Bathurst Panthers' Rugby League team. I have represented Western Division in the NSW Country Championships

I am a strong believer in life long learning and as such I have successfully completed a number of professional development programs.

I look forward to the challenges presented to me through my continuing association with the Girri Girri Sports Academy for Indigenous Students.
